Aleatico di Puglia |
|
From the Gargano to Lecce, since ancient times, whenever a wine from Apulia has been suggested, the choice has always fallen to Aleatico, a naturally sweet wine produced in the region for thousands of years. Three versions are available: naturally sweet (the most typical and authentic), a liqueur wine from partly sun-dried grapes and minimum of 18.5° proof, and lastly a Reserve, produced from the liqueur wine and must be refined for 5 months and aged for 3 years.

San Severo |
|
Full-bodied but restrained, forthright and clear as the waters of the sea nearby, San Severo is one of the simplest and most common wines in Apulia (and the Gargano in particular), but this is no reason for it to be neglected.
Four versions are produced in the municipality of San Severo and neighbouring areas in the province of Foggia: white, sparkling, red and rosé. They are all worth trying, but the most common and traditional is the red.
